Support the Workers at Super One!

We invite our readers to to sign the petition telling Super One Foods to Tell Super One: Keep Your Hands OFF Our Union Healthcare!  It is being circulated by United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1189.

For decades Super One has provided its workers with a union-funded healthcare plan. This union healthcare is important because under this plan, workers have a voice to choose the affordable coverage their families need. But now, Super One is trying to rip this away so they can transfer workers to a private insurance provider. This would cause a lot of uncertainty about how much treatments would cost and what’s even covered to begin with. Can you use your voice as a customer to tell Super One Foods to keep their hands OFF their workers' healthcare? Sign the petition and show your support for union grocery workers in your community who deserve good, affordable coverage.

What’s at Stake: If Super One forces its workers to switch from union healthcare to private insurance, they won’t know how much the cost of their premiums, deductibles, and treatment could increase year over year. On top of that, they’ll completely lose their say in what’s covered in their healthcare, how everything is funded, and where they can go to get treatment. Super One will be able to change the workers' plan as they see fit, leaving them without any say in big-picture decisions that affect their well-being. This is unacceptable - it’s not fair for Super One to make important decisions about their workers' healthcare. They need to respect their workers' authority to make their own choices about the coverage they pay for. Plus, when workers have good healthcare that they can rely on, it's easier for them to keep the shelves stocked and continue offering great customer service.

How You Can Help: Please sign the petition below and tell Super One to keep their hands OFF their workers' healthcare! Super One values your voice as a customer. The more shoppers who speak out, the more power we have as a community to demand better from the company.

POLITICAL EDUCATION: We feel that a crucial part of building a socialist movement is political education.  We encourage our members to study Marxist theory, and to apply it to understand how the world works and what can be done to change it.  We put on monthly Socialism and...
