On Saturday, March 1 about three dozen community members occupied the coffee shop in the Duluth Target store, and used it to make trans affirming art. The action, which was organized by the Northwoods Socialist Collective, was held to protest the store's abandonment of diversity programs, as well as the pulling of much of their Pride merchandise in its attempt to appease the Trump administration. We want to thank everyone who participated. It was a very uplifting event! Despite efforts by security and police, the space was held for well over an hour. Much of the art created will be used at an upcoming "Shit-In" protest, in which activists plan to put up trans affirming art and educational leaflets in public bathrooms around town. Stay tuned!
