On the morning of February 27 ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement) raided a worksite in the Lakeside neighborhood of Duluth. They detained several roofing workers who were working for a local contractor on a home there.
So far ICE has declined to confirm who was arrested, and efforts by local activists to track down the workers are ongoing. If you have any information, feel free to reach out to us and we will pass that on to the folks who are organizing jail support.
Some local residents of the neighborhood organized an impromptu protest with the message of that immigrants are welcome in Lakeside, while ICE is not. We will keep folks updated as we learn more. In the meantime, be on the lookout for ICE. Click here for a useful guide on your rights in these situations.
