St. Louis County Board Seeking to Exclude Duluth From Childcare Funding

Below is a call to action from Ashley Grimm

Over 1,000 children are in need of childcare in Duluth. This is one of the most important issues our community faces. I'm am proud to have fought for and helped secure $750,000 of our federal COVID relief money for childcare. This Tuesday, the county board chose to exclude Duluth from almost all of that money. This was our final opportunity to vote on this one-time money, and no other commissioner seconded my amendment to use some of the money on Duluth projects. Together we can build momentum for better. (video of the Board meeting is at the bottom of this article)

On December 13th the County Board meets again at the Duluth Courthouse at 9:30 a.m. Please come to public comment and contact your commissioners directly to let them know how critical our childcare needs are in Duluth, and that we need to fight for them going forward.
